I coached for 12 years, from Little League through high school, and I've used all of the big name, high priced pitching machines. I know what is required and essential in a pitching machine and when I used the Pitch Master for the first time I was astounded. It had everything the high priced pitching machines had..and more!
Not only was it accurate and at great speed with every feature imaginable but it was also easily portable. I could set it up anywhere in 2 minutes and using the Power Station battery, I could practice without worrying about electrical outlets. Try doing this with the much higher priced machines weighing 150+ lbs. and that require 1400w generators for remote play!
The key of course is the patented Durafoam Ball. First off, don't let the name "Durafoam" confuse you. It is not made of some squishy foam material. It is made of polyurethane; a very durable, hard material that, apart from it's weight, is indistinguishable from a regular dimpled machine ball.
So, what about it's weight (2.3oz. vs. 5oz. for a regular machine ball)? Doesn't that effect its flight? Does it float through the air? The answer is absolutely not!
Using the Durafoam ball, you will not notice any difference across the plate or off the bat...you can hit screaming grounders or long, high flys to the wall and not tell any difference. It offers you real-ball experience at a fraction of the cost.
For every coach, an efficient, productive practice is essential. Using the Pitch Master, you not only get a machine that offers you accurate pitches (curves, sliders, fastballs, left or right handed delivery) but you also get a "fungo coach" as well!
The Pitch Master is a great time saver in that it is perfect for either infield grounders practice or for outfield fly practice.
