When on a caddy, this is a great machine for defensive drills. It allows for quick transition from drill to drill and delivers on a quick 7 second recovery.

I was satisfied with the machine. I think the tri pod legs need to be a little longer as when I place it behind the L Screen the machine does not stand tall enough to pitch over the screen but over all well pleased

I almost bought this last season and did not. I sure wish I did. I use the Rookie for bunting practice behind a turtle behind HP during BP.

I also use it for all O/F drills and diving drills for INF/OF. Shoots good groundballs too. If you do not have enough coaches...buy this!!

I've purchased an ATEC Rookie in the past and love it!  This is the first one with a Caddy Pod.  The issue is that with the caddy pad, the machine sits so low that if you try to use it for anything other than defense, it will be more like a softball pitcher throwing at the hitter than a baseball.  The machine needs to sit up higher on the pod to be an effective all around machine.  The one I Purchased in the past had legs and it was in a much better location sitting on the taller legs.
