The Rawlings Pro Line 3 Wheel Softball Pitching Machine features a revolutionary design featuring a Top Speed of 90 mph & the capability of throwing every breaking ball pitch as well as fastballs with the unmatched precision and ease of a 3 wheel machine.
- 3 wheel design provides 3 main benefits over two wheel design.
- First, 3 wheels have better contact with the ball for better pitch control. It's like throwing a baseball with three fingers rather than 2.
- Secondly, the batter can easily see the ball the entire time it is on the ball feeder ramp, helping batters time the pitch. Two wheel machines can obscure a batter's view of the ball, particularly when in a vertical orientation.
- Finally, utilizing three wheels does away with being forced to rotate the machine to change pitch type. Pitch break is completely determined by the speed of the three wheels, so setup is easier, you simply choose the type of pitch and the amount of rotation with a couple of clicks of the LED dial..
- Pitch Selection/Pitch Placement: Pitches are selected by directly setting the pitch speed, spin direction, and spin amount on the control panel. The machine uses these inputs to automatically adjust the individual wheel speeds required to generate the selected speed and spin. All you need to do to aim the machine is turn the two hand adjustment wheels. Each wheel is connected via worm gear to the pivoting frame to allow precise, controlled adjustments to dial in strike after strike. Spin amount is also set directly as none, low, medium or high. This system yields a total of 37 different pitches available at any speed from 36 mph - 90 mph.
- Power: This machine may be powered by a standard household outlet or a portable gas generator. The machine will pull a maximum continuous load of 6 Amps (720 Watts) at 120V AC, but we
recommend a generator capacity of 1000W minimum. - Speed Range: 40-100 mph Baseball, 36-90 mph Softball.
- Balls: Uses Regular Leather balls or Dimpled Pitching Machine Balls
